Frequently Asked Questions about the 2011 USA Pro Cycling / Quiznos Challenge Fantasy Cycling Game
Q: Does it cost anything to play?
A: No, it is completely free.
Q: Do I have to give you my email address?
A: No.
Q: Do you track cookies?
A: No.
Q: How many teams may I enter?
A: As many as you like.
Q: How many cyclists per team?
A: Each team must have 8 cyclists, just like the actual
USA Pro Cycling / Quiznos Challenge race.
Q: May I enter a team after the race has started?
A: No, because contestents have a level playing field.
Q: How many fantasy dollars can I spend per team?
A: You may spend up to $4,000,000 per team.
Q: Why are some teams allowed to spend more than $4,000,000 per team?
A: They are not "real" teams. They consist of all real cyclists
on the real team of the same name. For example, in the 2011 USA
Pro Cycling Challenge, BMC contains Cadel Evans, George Hincapie,
Brent Bookwalter, Chris Barton, Jeffry Louder, Chad Beyer, Timothy
Roe, and Chris Butler — the exact lineup as seen in the draft.
This is done purely for the sake of interest
to see if real teams (not limited by the salary cap) can beat
carefully chosen fantasy teams — and fantasy teams win despite
the salary cap disadvantage. In the 2011 Tour de France game,
seven teams beat Leopard Trek (which had an unusual two guys on the
podium). The next real team (BMC) finished in 38th place. Apart
from these highly placed teams, most of the rest finished near the bottom.
Q: Are there prizes?
A: Not at this time.
